50 YEARS OF LOCAL DERBY
Club Rugby doesn’t get much better than the annual Battle of the Beaches between club rivals Manly and Warringah and this years marks 50 years of the ongoing yearly derby.
CEO and official major sponsor of the Rats Wayne Bayfield is at every home game .. “The Bayfield family has been sponsoring the Rats since 1987, 34 years in total. It doesn’t matter how either team is tracking over a season, what matters is the local derby … the annual Bayfield’s Cup is a long standing tradition between rivals Warringah Rugby Club and Manly Rugby Club, it will always be a great game and without a doubt the biggest game of Shute Shield Competition”.
This Saturday’s game is set to be an absolute cracker, and to celebrate the 50 year milestone local brewery @modusoperandibrewery have developed a LIMITED EDITION Club Rugby Lager in two distinct packaging for @warringahrats and @manly.malin.rugby. Have you got your tickets yet? The club has entertainment kicking off from midday and will have extra bars open for the day as well. There will also be several entrance points to get you through the gates as quickly as possible – although we recommend arriving early!
