Gordon Ramsay Intenso Rosso is a blend of two classic grape varieties from Italy: Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine comes from the Emilia-Romagna region, in the northern part of central Italy, which is known for its fertile plains, mild climate, and rich cultural heritage. The wine is produced by Tenuta Maiano, a family-owned winery that has been crafting high-quality wines since 1925.
Gordon Ramsay Intenso Rosso is a wine that balances fruity and spicy notes with smooth tannins and a lingering finish. When you pour it into a glass, you can appreciate its deep ruby colour and its intense aroma of red berries, vanilla, and oak. On the palate, you can taste a harmonious blend of black cherry, plum, chocolate, and liquorice, that is enriched by hints of pepper and cinnamon. The wine has a medium body and a good acidity that makes it suitable for various food combinations.
You can pair Gordon Ramsay Intenso Rosso with grilled meats, aged cheeses, pasta with tomato sauce, and other hearty dishes that can stand up to its intensity and complexity. If you want to enhance the flavours of the wine, you can decant it for at least an hour before serving it, to let it breathe and open up.
Gordon Ramsay Intenso Rosso has received several awards and positive reviews from wine critics and enthusiasts. In 2021, it won a gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world. The judges praised its “ripe and juicy fruit flavors, complemented by the complex spice and oak notes” and its “elegant and persistent finish.”
When you receive the wine, make sure to store it in a cool and dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The ideal temperature for storing red wines is between 55°F and 65°F (12°C and 18°C). You can keep the bottle upright or on its side, depending on your preference, but avoid shaking it or exposing it to vibrations, as this can affect its quality.
