Veuve Clicquot Brut Vintage 750ml

The predominance of Pinot Noir (50%), the touch of 10% of wines produced in oak casks and the prolonged aging on the lees give the power and aromatic richness so typical of Veuve Clicquot Vintage style. Chardonnay (30%) brings the elegance and finesse of a perfectly balanced wine, while a small percentage of Pinot Meunier (20%) rounds out the blend.

Veuve Clicquot’s Vintage collection is unique for its use of wines vinified and aged in large oak casks (10%), which adds strength and aromatic intensity. The cask-aged wines bring an additional complexity with their spicy notes and subtle roast coffee and toasted aromas.

Does Veuve Clicquot have a vintage?

Yes. Veuve Clicquot is a champagne house that produces vintage champagnes. A vintage champagne is a wine that is made from grapes harvested in a single year and is typically considered to be of higher quality than non-vintage champagnes. Veuve Clicquot’s vintage champagnes are made from grapes grown in the company’s own vineyards in the Champagne region of France and are aged for several years before being released for sale.

How long does Veuve Clicquot last unopened?

The shelf life of unopened champagne, including Veuve Clicquot, can vary depending on several factors such as the storage conditions and the specific type of champagne. However, in general, unopened champagne can last for several years if it is stored properly.

Non-vintage champagne has a shorter shelf life and is typically meant to be consumed within 3-5 years of bottling. Whereas vintage champagne has a longer shelf life and can be aged for several more years.

It is important to store champagne in a cool, dark place, away from light and heat. The ideal storage temperature for champagne is around 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit (7-10 degrees Celsius). The bottle should also be kept in an upright position to prevent the cork from drying out.

It’s also worth noting that Veuve Clicquot champagnes are known for their aging potential and can remain at their best for many years after their disgorgement date. Can Veuve Clicquot go off?

Yes. Champagne, including Veuve Clicquot, can go off or spoil if it is not stored properly or if it has been opened for too long.

If champagne is exposed to heat, light or vibration, it can cause the wine to deteriorate. High temperatures can cause the wine to age too quickly and develop off-flavours, while light can cause the wine to lose its colour and flavour. Vibration can cause the wine to become cloudy and develop sediment.
Once a bottle of champagne is opened, the wine is exposed to oxygen which can cause it to lose its bubbles and flavour over time. An opened bottle of champagne should be consumed within 3-5 days to ensure that it is still at its best.

If you notice any signs of spoilage, such as a sour or musty smell, a change in colour, or loss of bubbles, it is best to discard the champagne.
