Penfolds

About the Wines

Penfolds has elevated the Australian red wine experience, thanks to their huge range of available types, collections, and vintages. They offer wine lovers an extensive collection of wines ranging from flavourful Cabernet Sauvignon to rich and sultry Pinot Noir.

While many people recognise the brand for red wine excellence, this should not suggest that they aren’t a producer of exceptional white wines, too. They have multiple regionally selected white wines for you to enjoy, such as Riesling, Chardonnay, and more.

Take a look at a curated list of some of the most interesting and popular selections below.

Bin 2 Shiraz Mataro

Since 1960, the Bin 2 range has long been enjoyed by Penfolds enthusiasts.

This blend of Shiraz and Mataro is something of an enigma. Often unseen at Australian tables, it unites two wonderfully complex flavour profiles for the experienced palate. Rather than simply combining their qualities, it elevates them and produces something you have to experience for yourself to appreciate.

Bin 23 Pinot Noir

The name Bin 23 stems from this wine’s site of maturation — the 23rd cellar of the famed Magill Estate.

A bolder inclusion into Penfolds’ Pinot Noir Line, this wine reflects a growing interest in changing flavour dynamics that still connect to a region’s vineyards. The Bin 23 Pinot Noir accomplishes this blend seamlessly with soft tannins, bright acidity, and a full taste across the palate.

Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon

First launched in 1990, Bin 407 reflects the growing demand for ultra-high-quality Cabernet Sauvignons in Australia.

This line provides enthusiasts with a satisfying sip from varietal distinctions of each vintage to a profound structure and depth of flavour across the board. Most notably, it carries an approachability year over year that many similar wines do not.

Bin 311 Chardonnay

Bin 311 exemplifies a standard that most winemakers follow: you go to grow where the fruit does its best. And this Chardonnay is no exception.

Since 2017, this line has been grown in cool-climate regions perfectly suited to bring out the best in the wine. A minimal amount of filtration means full-fruit flavour in every sip, fermentation directly in barrel, and maturing in seasoned oak. This provides brightness, elegance, and, best of all — a genuinely pleasant palate refresher.
